This Privacy Policy is prepared to explain how your information is collected, used, stored, and shared when you use the Label Score application. In this text, “the app publisher” refers to the developer that publishes the Label Score application.
Label Score is a mobile application that helps users obtain information about products by uploading a product photo together with an ingredient/label photo. The application may also store certain results on the device and may offer both free and subscription-based usage options. The application uses AI-assisted processing and certain third-party services to generate analysis results.
1. What information do we collect?
Label Score collects and processes only the information necessary to provide the core functions of the application.
a. Camera and gallery images
The application accesses your device camera and gallery only with your explicit permission. The product photos and ingredient/label photos you select are processed so that product analysis can be performed. These images may be processed for a limited period for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and service continuity purposes and may be deleted after no more than 1 week. They are not kept as a permanent archive by the application.
b. Local data stored on the device
Some data may be stored in your device’s local database or local storage, including analysis history, result summaries such as product scores and short comments, small image previews or local image paths, theme or appearance preferences, review prompt display status, subscription cache, and certain application state information. This data is primarily stored on your device, and there is no mandatory cloud synchronization in the initial version logic.
c. Usage and performance data
To help the application work better, understand how screens are used, and improve the application, Firebase Analytics may be used. The privacy and security approach of Firebase Privacy and Security and the Google Privacy Policy should also be reviewed.
d. Advertising data
In the free usage plan, ads may be shown in the application through AdMob. Within the scope of ad services, Google may process data for ad delivery, measurement, privacy choices, and similar operations. The Google Privacy Policy, Google Ads / Advertising Privacy, and AdMob Policies and Restrictions should also be reviewed.
e. Subscription and payment information
Subscriptions may be offered for ad-free usage and monthly analysis packages. Subscription payments are made only through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The app publisher does not directly access full payment information such as your card number; those transactions are processed through the relevant store infrastructures.
2. For what purposes is your information used?
Collected or processed information may be used to perform product and ingredient analysis, show you analysis results, let you view analysis history on your device, manage free usage quotas and subscription rights, operate ad-supported or ad-free usage flows, perform security checks, identify errors, improve performance and the application, and reduce abuse, automation, and unauthorized access attempts.
3. How does AI analysis work?
In Label Score, the product photo and ingredient/label photo you upload may be sent for AI-assisted processing so that analysis can be performed. The analysis flow is designed to operate through a backend service in a structured and controlled way; the model is not used as a final legal or medical decision-maker by itself.
Within this scope, the images and related technical prompts necessary for analysis may be processed through third-party AI infrastructure such as the OpenAI API. The OpenAI Privacy Policy and OpenAI Security and Privacy pages should also be reviewed.
4. How are Firebase and Firestore used?
The application may use Google Firebase services for infrastructure and application functions. Examples include Firebase Analytics, Firestore-based counters, state data or service-side operations, security and abuse-prevention mechanisms, and quota or request controls.
Official information about Firebase data processing and security is available in Firebase Privacy and Security. For Firestore-specific access control and data protection, see Cloud Firestore Security Overview.
5. Advertising and third-party advertising services
In the free plan, ads may be displayed within the application. Ad delivery and measurement processes may be handled within Google’s AdMob and related advertising technologies. Details about personalized ads, consent, messaging, and advertising privacy are explained in the relevant Google policies.
6. Subscriptions
Label Score may include subscription plans that provide ad-free use and expanded analysis rights. These subscriptions are purchased, renewed, canceled, or restored only through the App Store or Google Play. Apple generally applies a standard end user license agreement to apps if a custom license is not provided, and Google Play usage is governed by Google Play terms and policies.
Please review the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), Apple Privacy Policy, Google Play Terms of Service, and Google Privacy Policy.
7. How long is your data retained?
Images uploaded for analysis may be retained for up to 1 week for security and processing purposes and then deleted. Analysis history stored locally on your device may remain until you uninstall the application, clear the data, or delete the relevant records. Analytics and service logs may be subject to the retention policies of the relevant third-party service providers. Subscription and payment records are subject to the retention policies of Apple and Google store and payment infrastructures.
8. With whom may your data be shared?
Your information may be shared, only to the extent necessary for the service to function, with Google/Firebase, OpenAI, Google AdMob, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store. The app publisher does not sell your data.
9. Use by children
The application may be available for general use; however, parents or legal representatives are encouraged to appropriately evaluate how children use the application and the content they upload. The application does not replace medical advice, professional health assessment, or specialist services for children.
10. Data security
The app publisher seeks to take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect data. These may include backend AI calls, quota management, security checks, App Check or similar validation, rate limiting, and related mechanisms. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is one hundred percent secure.
11. Your rights
Depending on the applicable law, you may have rights such as requesting access to data processed about you, requesting correction of inaccurate data, requesting deletion of certain data, objecting to certain processing activities, and managing privacy preferences on store or third-party provider platforms. Requests and controls on third-party platforms are also subject to the policies of those providers.
12. Third-party agreements and privacy policies
When using Label Score, you are also encouraged to review the following third-party agreements and policies:
13. How can this policy be updated?
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Important changes may be communicated within the application, on the store page, or at the relevant policy link. The current text becomes effective as of the date it is published.
