Label Score

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern the use of the Label Score mobile application and the related subscription, content, and service rules.

Effective Date
25.04.2025

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Label Score mobile application (“Application”). In this text, “app publisher” refers to the developer publishing the Label Score application.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Application.

1. Purpose of the Application

Label Score is a decision-support application that helps users obtain information about products by uploading a product photo and an ingredient or label photo. The Application may generate outputs such as a product score, a short comment, notable risk signals, and related warnings. The main purpose of the Application is to make label and ingredient information easier to understand; it does not provide definitive medical, legal, laboratory-level, or professional expert evaluation.

2. Scope of Use

The Application may be offered through free and subscription-based plans. Free use may include ad-supported analysis access, while premium plans may provide ad-free use and expanded analysis quotas. The scope of plans, analysis quotas, ad status, and other features may also be described within the Application or on store pages.

Some features of the Application may require an internet connection, camera or gallery access, and the availability of third-party services.

3. Age and Appropriate Use

The Application may be available for general use; however, users are expected to have the legal capacity required under applicable law, or, where appropriate, to use the Application under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

The outputs of the Application should not be used as the sole basis for decision-making by children, people with sensitive health conditions, pregnant individuals, elderly individuals, or users with particular sensitivities.

4. License and Right of Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, revocable, non-transferable, and non-exclusive right to use the Application for personal and non-commercial purposes.

This license does not grant you the right to copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, excessively or improperly automate the Application, or attempt to bypass security, quota, advertising, or subscription restrictions.

For versions obtained through the App Store, Apple’s Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) may apply by default when no custom license agreement is provided. Use through the App Store is therefore subject to Apple’s standard licensing framework. Use through Google Play is also subject to the applicable Google Play terms and store rules.

5. Camera, Gallery, and User Content

The Application accesses your camera and gallery only with your permission. You represent that you have the necessary rights to any product, label, and ingredient images that you upload to the Application.

You agree not to upload unlawful content, materials that infringe the rights of third parties, photos that violate another person’s privacy, or harmful, misleading, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate content.

The app publisher reserves the right to restrict, block, or remove content or usage that violates these Terms.

6. Nature of Analysis Results

The Application’s outputs are based on user-provided images, label information, product content, AI-assisted interpretation, and internal system rules. Accordingly, the results are for informational and decision-support purposes only; they are not definitive medical advice, diagnosis, treatment advice, legal opinion, or an official product compliance certificate.

Results may be affected if the label is incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, unreadable, or outdated. A margin of error may arise when product images or label quality is low. Ingredient ordering and visible label information may be interpreted, but amounts not explicitly shown on the label, manufacturing processes, or laboratory validation cannot always be determined with certainty.

In particular, assessments may be based on ingredient and nutritional information for food products, ingredient or INCI information for cosmetic and personal care products, and only the visible fiber and care label information for textile products. For textiles, dyes, finishing agents, coatings, and other process chemicals may not always appear on the label.

7. No Medical, Health, or Professional Advice

Label Score does not replace a doctor, pharmacist, dietitian, chemist, toxicologist, dermatologist, lawyer, or any other qualified professional.

The Application’s outputs should not be used on their own for urgent health decisions, diagnosis or treatment selection, medication use, allergy management, critical decisions involving pregnancy, children, or elderly individuals, or official legal or regulatory compliance assessments.

Before making any important health or safety decision, you should consult a qualified professional.

8. Country-Specific Restrictions and Regulatory Notes

The Application may display country-specific restrictions, caution notes, or regulatory information regarding some products or ingredients. Such notes are for informational purposes only and do not constitute an official legal opinion, legal advice, or a binding compliance determination. Their relevance, scope, and applicability may vary depending on country, region, product type, method of use, and changes in law or regulation.

9. Free Use, Ads, and Subscriptions

The Application may display ads and apply certain usage quotas in the free plan. The free plan may include rewarded ads before analysis, banner ads, or similar ad formats. Premium plans may provide ad-free use and expanded analysis quotas.

Subscription purchases, renewals, cancellations, restorations, and billing are handled only through Apple App Store or Google Play Store infrastructure. The app publisher does not directly access your payment card or bank details processed by the store.

Store-specific terms also apply to subscriptions and store usage. In particular, Apple’s Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), the Google Play Terms of Service, and relevant store rules may apply.

10. Third-Party Services

The Application may use third-party services including OpenAI API, Google Firebase, Firestore, Firebase Analytics, Google AdMob, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store. The functionality, data processing, licensing terms, and store rules arising from these services are subject to the relevant third parties’ own terms and policies.

11. Local Records and Temporary Retention

The Application may store some results and application state information in local device storage. This may include analysis history, short result summaries, theme preferences, subscription cache, and similar technical data.

Images uploaded for analysis may be retained for a limited period for security and service operation purposes and are not intended to be stored as a permanent archive.

12. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Application in a way that bypasses security measures, attempts to avoid quota, advertising, or subscription limits, sends excessive, automated, or abusive requests to the service, disrupts OpenAI, Firebase, store, or advertising services, republishes the Application’s output for misleading or harmful purposes, or otherwise uses the Application unlawfully.

Access may be restricted, suspended, or terminated in response to such conduct.

13. Intellectual Property

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Application itself, its interface, name, design, software, data structures, visual language, texts, and all other elements belong to the app publisher or the relevant rights holders.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Application; they grant only a limited right of use.

14. Changes to or Discontinuation of the Service

The app publisher may update all or part of the Application, add, remove, or modify features, change free or premium plan structures, or temporarily or permanently discontinue certain functions for maintenance, security, cost, store-policy, technical, or product development reasons.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Application is provided “as is” and “as available.” The app publisher makes no express or implied warranty regarding error-free operation, uninterrupted access, always accurate or complete analysis, flawless results for every product type, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation of third-party services.

Apple’s Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also reflects that applications may be licensed on an “as is” basis and that provider liability may be limited.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the app publisher shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, data loss, commercial loss, loss of opportunity, incorrect decisions, or outcomes arising from health or purchasing choices.

In particular, liability is limited for outcomes arising from incorrect or incomplete images uploaded by users, inaccurate label information, low-quality photographs, interruptions of third-party services, store or payment or advertising infrastructure issues, or the margin of error inherent in AI-assisted analysis.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.

17. Suspension and Termination

The app publisher may temporarily or permanently restrict access to the Application in the event of a violation of these Terms, abuse, technical attack, unauthorized access attempt, suspected fraud, or any activity affecting service security.

Users may stop using the Application at any time and may remove it from their devices. Subscription cancellation must be handled through the relevant store account according to store rules.

18. Third-Party Terms and Policies

When using the Application, users should also review the following third-party terms and policies:

19. Updates to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The current version may be published within the Application, on a website, on the store page, or in the relevant link area. Updated Terms become effective from the date of publication. Your continued use of the Application means that you accept the updated Terms.
